Cresswell hasn't been the same since that arsehole tackled him in a pre-season 'friendly' 2 seasons ago. I forget the team but the opposition manager wisely substituted the twat immediately.

Without a doubt his form has dropped the last 2 seasons. He even used to chip in with the odd goal like at Leicester.
But clearly not suited as a CB in our back 3 either.

I wanted to sell him last Summer too. I think there was a time where he might have been worth somewhere closer to a Kyle Walker type fee to a top six club. That was really the time to sell imo.

Didn't you show some concern a few seasons ago when we didn't sell him to City for roughly the same amount, V?

Arguably Cresswell is more useful now than he was before. Not only the assists he's getting from centre-back, but the fact that he now covers two roles in the team, is an experienced player who seems like a very solid pro at this stage, and a homegrown player in a market that is incredibly difficult to navigate. I think he suits us a lot if we're going to keep playing three at the back, and he also offers a more solid alternative to Masuaku who is still slightly suspect if operating as a full-back.
He's also on a very modest wage and a secure contract compared to most of the squad. I would certainly not want the club to sell for less than £25m.

I remember when we bought Cresswell we had also been looking at Andrew Robertson when he was at Dundee United. Robertson then moved to Hull before Liverpool signed him.
There is no comparison between the players now. Robertson looks top notch and Cresswell has gone backwards.
We have to have a clear out in the summer,and for me Cresswell can go,but we certainly won't get anything like 25 mill. Someone is having a laugh there.
